About Mary Alonso

Mary spent the last 28 years teaching grades TK-5th. For the last 5 years of her career, she served as a lead STEAM TOSA and Arts Integration Specialist for her district. Her experience as a general ed classroom teacher, together with her degree in music performance, Orff Schulwerk Certification, and a Language Development Specialist Certification provides her with a unique lens on arts integration and STEAM. Mary is currently on faculty at The Colburn Community School of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles and The Pasadena Music Conservatory where she teaches Early Childhood Music. She continues to find opportunities to support Arts Education by serving as member of the California Department of Education’s Visual and Performing Arts Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee and provides coaching for Arts Integration and STEAM programs. She also continues to perform as a freelance musician throughout Southern California.
