Inside the access area, you’ll also find video tutorials that explain each step and a community area to ask questions and share ah-ha’s. Here’s what you’ll discover in each step of the system:

In this step, we’ll cover the foundations of STEAM and learn how to build its capacity in our teaching, leading, and learning. Includes these templates:

  • Definition and Context Card
  • STEAM Continuum
  • STEM/STEAM Comparison
  • 6-Step STEAM Process

Now that you have the basics down, it’s time to begin setting up STEAM systems for classrooms, school, and community. Includes these templates:

  • STEAM Program Elements
  • Readiness Scale
  • Connecting with Current Work
  • Staff and Parent Surveys

Most educators and leaders want to start with this section, but STEAM requires the previous first two steps to ensure a solid foundation of understanding is built. Now that you know what STEAM is and how it’s being perceived by your stakeholders, you can start to plan your efforts and build your initial team. Includes these templates:

  • Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals Forms
  • Makerspace Materials List
  • Roles and Responsibilities Chart
  • STEAM Specialist Job Description
  • STEAM Budget

With your systems in place and a clear understanding of the STEAM process, it’s now time to explore putting your systems into action. Includes these templates:

  • Habits of Mind Reference
  • Digital Scope and Sequence
  • Collaborative Planning Method Sheets
  • STEAM Representations Across the Curriculum

You’re now at a place where you have the systems established and collaboration is the norm. In this step, you’re going to move into identifying and creating highly-effective STEAM lessons. Includes these templates:

  • STEAM Lesson Analysis Form
  • Moving from STEM to STEAM
  • STEAM Lesson Look-Fors
  • Assessment Review Sheet

You’re really going places, now! You have your STEAM team set up, frameworks in place, systems running, and high-quality STEAM lessons are the norm. In this step, it’s time to explore how to measure the efficacy of using STEAM within a whole school’s learning environment through professional development. Includes these templates:

  • Gap Analysis Form
  • CBAM (Concerns-Based Adoption Model) Form
  • 8 Steps for Effective PD Resource
  • PD Planner Form

Any high-quality program has criteria in place to measure its effectiveness. Your STEAM program is no different. In this step, we’ll be looking at what data is important to track, how to measure it reliably and with validity, and how to score a STEAM program overall. Includes these templates:

  • Data Analysis Form
  • Data Tracking Card
  • STEAM Progress Report

While your STEAM program is being established, it’s critical to cultivate partnerships with community members and other stakeholders. This provides long-term sustainability and opportunities to scale your efforts for the long-term. This step shows you how to do this. Includes these templates:

  • STEAM Careers Card
  • STEAM Showcases
  • Community Connections Sheet
  • Organizing Your Efforts Sheet

Who This Is For…

This STEAM System shares the “how, what, and when” that other programs leave out. It’s not grade-level specific, and can be adapted to any learning environment. We’ve seen this system used successfully by:

Elementary, Middle, and High School levels

Charter and Magnet Schools

After-School Programs

STEM/STEAM Coordinators

Principals and Team Leaders and

Coordinators and District-Level Staff

**This is meant to be used as a team – so one purchase per school is typically sufficient. However, PD hours are per person. Which means each person seeking PD hours will need to purchase their own copy in order to submit a final project for their certificate.

Why This STEAM System?

Unfortunately, buying a bunch of 3-D printers, robotics kits, or coding tools doesn’t mean you have a successful STEAM program. It just means you have more stuff. What you REALLY need is a foundational framework – a system that includes teacher PD supports, career showcases and community partnerships, and the right steps at the right time to ensure your program lasts for the long haul.

Here’s how we do that:

Rapid Learning

In the STEAM Success System, you’re getting the exact information you need at each step to see immediate progress.

You benefit from the work we’ve done with hundreds of other schools, too. This compounds your learning and accelerates your growth.

By participating in this shared knowledge transfer, you’ll stay at the cutting edge.

Student & Teacher Growth

Our goal is to get you results. Schools who work with us see up to a 20% increase in student achievement and over 75% of teachers report more satisfaction.

By following these steps, you’ll see increased teacher retention and student engagement overall.

Your return on investment is a long-term STEAM program of excellence.

Career Connections

STEAM builds 21st century skills that future careers need – so we need to showcase those opportunities for our students.

We’ll show you how to cultivate long-lasting relationships with your community to highlight STEAM fields and accelerate your efforts.

As you succeed in these efforts, you’ll become an even more powerful force for one another.

Trusted and loved by Educators.

“Our teachers LOVE being able to make authentic connections with other disciplines without having to have all the ideas themselves. It really creates great collaboration without all the pressure to be “the expert” 100% of the time.”

Matt Neylon, Administrator

“My students perform better, enjoy my lessons, and love the connections to the Arts and the other disciplines. In my classroom, it’s almost ‘ordinary’. I don’t think I could teach any other way. Grateful…..and loving teaching.”

Betty Jo Moore, MS Science Teacher

“Thank you again for all the excellent work you do! Just wanted to let you all know how valuable your work is. Everything you send is spot on for the classroom as well as uplifting personally. Thank you for all you do! Well done!”

Karen Garrett, Art Teacher
