Math and Theater Strategy: Coordinate Plane Set Design
This workshop explores how to connect coordinate planes and set designs. It’s a great way to integrate math and theater. In this example, students use the coordinate plane to plot points where they wish to place their set designs using objects (otherwise known as props). Props can be used both as an actor’s tool on stage, or just as a placement for other people to walk around and guide their movements.
Students have to make sure they know where things are placed on stage. So they’re going to take measurements of the coordinate plane, and then place the props all around the coordinate plane in the 1st quadrant.
This workshop is part of our Math and Theater Strategy Pack in the Accelerator Professional Membership.
