When embedding and integrating art and social justice in our classrooms, we offer students the opportunity to explore issues that are important to them. This builds on social-emotional learning, critical thinking, and reflective growth that are at the heart of 21st-century skill development. Importantly, using the arts for social justice can also raise awareness, build community, and provide gateways into respectful dialogue.
