Exploring Viewpoints: An Artful Thinking Routine
Artful Thinking Routines are a set of routines/skills that can be used to deepen student thinking capacity. In the theme Exploring Viewpoints, students are using art, music, theater, or dance compositions as a way to look at a topic through the lens of a specific character.
This workshop is part of our Artful Thinking Routines Pack in the Accelerator Professional Membership.
Additional Details for the Exploring Viewpoints Routine
Artful Thinking is a set of our routines from Project Zero which are meant to help students think creatively and critically through habits of deep observation, analysis, and questioning. These routines are designed to be easy to remember and help students take action in and out of the classroom. They offer a wide range of applications and are split into a set of 6 themes: Comparing & Connecting, Exploring Viewpoints, Finding Complexity, Observing and Describing, Questioning and Investigating, and Reasoning.
In this preview, Susan Riley shares 2 routines from the Exploring Viewpoints theme: Step Inside and The Complexity Scale. You’ll also be provided with an extension for Step Inside which can be used both face-to-face and in virtual environments.
This workshop preview is part of our members-only Accelerator workshops. Each month, we release a stack of videos and worksheets to help educators bring inspiring new techniques into their classrooms. Each workshop also provides teachers with a certificate for 1 PD hour.
