This instructional strategies course was created for educators who want to use arts integration in their classroom, but who need straight-forward and practical methods that don’t take a lot of time.

Inside, you’ll discover the easy-to-use arts integration strategies in each arts area + a sample arts integration lesson demo that uses each strategy. These ideas will immediately engage your students and deepen their learning experience. You can start or complete this course at any time – membership access is included.

CURRICULUM FOR THIS COURSE

3 Lessons:

  • Identify and illustrate the seven elements of visual art
  • Describe standalone strategies including Responding to Visual Art, “In The Style Of,” and Visual Art Creation Strategies
  • Watch and Evaluate an arts integrated lesson for included visual art elements and strategies

3 Activities:

  • Complete the Elements section of the Visual Arts graphic organizer
  • Complete the Strategies section of the Visual Arts graphic organizer
  • Complete the Observation Form and Download the Visual Art Strategies Integrated with Academic Curriculum to brainstorm embedding strategies within current content

1 Assignment:

5-question check-in quiz

3 Lessons:

  • Identify and describe the elements of music
  • Describe standalone music strategies including Critical Listening, Body Percussion, and Composition
  • Watch and Evaluate an arts integrated lesson for included music elements and strategies

3 Activities:

  • Complete the Elements section of the Music graphic organizer
  • Complete the Strategies section of the Music graphic organizer
  • Complete the Observation Form and Download the Music Strategies Integrated with Academic Curriculum to brainstorm embedding strategies within current content

Using the Effective Instructional Strategies template provided, take two (2) existing lessons and intentionally embed one or more of the arts strategies from the course.
